The Fondazione Franco Zeffirelli presents a new encounter exploring the dialogue between literature and memory, featuring Dacia Maraini, internationally acclaimed writer, poet, and essayist.
Joining her will be Titti Giuliani Foti, journalist, theatre critic, and author of Cara mamma (with a preface by Dacia Maraini), and Erica Gardenti Cassigoli, teacher and author of Ogni padre è stato bambino (Every Father Was Once a Child), for a conversation on the themes of autobiography and the inner landscapes of the soul.
Starting from Vita mia (2023) — the moving memoir in which Maraini recalls her childhood years spent in a Japanese internment camp — the authors will reflect on the power of writing as an act of memory, testimony, and rebirth.
The discussion will be moderated by Cristina Manetti, creator of the special project La Toscana delle Donne (Tuscany of Women), and coordinated by Stefania Costa from the La Nottola di Minerva.
Selected readings will be performed by actress Maria Letizia Gorga.
A unique opportunity to reflect, through the words of the authors, on the universal value of personal storytelling.
