FLO.RE Festival

The Zeffirelli Foundation is delighted to host a selection of events from the FLO.RE Festival 2026, a multidisciplinary festival that brings together music, nature, visual arts and contemporary thought in some of Florence’s most significant cultural venues.

 

The FLO.RE Festival shares a natural affinity with the Foundation’s mission: creating opportunities for dialogue between music, theatre, cinema, memory and artistic research. The 2026 edition is dedicated to the theme of water as a symbol of time, transformation, memory and the inner landscape.

CURRENTS AND REFLECTIONS. WATER BETWEEN MOTION AND CONTEMPLATION
Fossi – Masi Duo

 

Opening concert of FLO.RE Festival 2026 – Voices of Water, Currents and Reflections presents a musical journey inspired by water as an image of movement, memory and contemplation.

Through solo piano and four-hand piano repertoire, the programme spans different eras and musical languages, from the luminous elegance of Mozart to the impressionistic transparency of Debussy and Ravel, culminating in the poetic intensity of Schubert’s Fantasia in F minor. A sonic journey in which the flow of water becomes a metaphor for time and transformation.

Matteo Fossi is among the most highly regarded Italian pianists of his generation, acclaimed for the depth of his interpretations, stylistic rigour and commitment to musical research.

Pier Narciso Masi, a distinguished figure in Italian concert life, is considered one of the leading interpreters of the European piano and chamber music repertoire.

SPRINGS AND TRANSPARENCIES. WATER GAMES OF WIND AND LIGHT

An evening devoted to the sonic evocations of water through a dialogue of wind, light and musical transparency. Hosted in the Courtyard of the Zeffirelli Foundation, the concert offers an immersive listening experience in which timbre and atmosphere take centre stage.

Works by Dahlhoff, Liviabella, Britten, Martin, Garella, Eisler, Gentilucci, Mamiya and Darmanin.

WATERS OF MEMORY: VISIONS, DREAMS AND CINEMA
A Tribute to Danilo Donati and the Cinema of Federico Fellini

 

A special afternoon dedicated to the relationship between music, cinema and visual imagination in the poetic universe of Federico Fellini and Danilo Donati.

Through music, film excerpts and insightful commentary, audiences are invited on a journey through memory, dreams and vision, fully reflecting both the interdisciplinary spirit of the FLO.RE Festival and the Zeffirelli Foundation’s commitment to fostering dialogue among the arts.

Artists
Gregorio Nardi, internationally renowned pianist, musicologist and music critic, is celebrated for creating original interdisciplinary artistic projects.
Luchetta, clarinettist, is active in the contemporary chamber music scene and is known for his interpretative sensitivity and narrative approach to music.
Martignon, cellist, combines refined musicianship with a repertoire ranging from twentieth-century masterpieces to contemporary works.
Sfriso, pianist and chamber musician, develops artistic projects centred on the dialogue between repertoire and storytelling.

The Les Brasseurs Quintet explores the expressive power of brass instruments through a programme that combines energy, brilliance and orchestral breadth.

The ensemble’s rich sonic architecture evokes vast spaces, distant calls and expansive musical landscapes, highlighting the remarkable versatility and colour of the brass quintet in performances that are both spectacular and refined.

Les Brasseurs Quintet is composed of young Italian orchestral musicians performing with leading European ensembles and is recognised for its vibrant musical energy and outstanding artistry.
