Cinematography Lab – Film Shooting Workshop
Cinematography Lab is a Workshop on the theory, technique, and language of shooting film, created in collaboration with Shot Academy.
The Workshop will take place in Florence in the prestigious San Firenze complex, which hosts the Franco Zeffirelli International Centre for the Performing Arts.
The Workshop aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills of the members of the Camera Department, with particular emphasis on the practice of Cinematography.
Cinematography Lab includes 8 theoretical lessons and 12 practical ‘training on set’ sessions, real film sets set up within the evocative spaces of the historic complex of San Firenze.
The focus of the training on set is on movements of the camera, composition of the image, and techniques of lighting.
Teachers – Stefano Di Leo and Alessandro Bernabucci
The Film Shooting Workshop – Cinematography Lab is curated by Stefano di Leo and Alessandro Bernabucci, co-founders of Shot Academy, a professional training centre dedicated to Cinematography and Digital Cinema. Shot Academy collaborates with the most established professionals in the industry: DoP, Camera Operator, Focus Puller and D.I.T.
The method used by Shot Academy is that of on set training, real film sets that are set up during the lessons using the same technical means as Italian and international film productions.
Stefano di Leo, in addition to having taught Theories and techniques of analogical and digital shooting at the University La Sapienza of Rome, has worked as a DoP, mainly in the documentary field.
Alessandro Bernabucci was teaching coordinator of the Seminar ‘Digital Cinema – Data Manager’ for the national Film School of Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, and is currently teaching ‘Technique of shooting’ at the Istituto di Stato per la Cinematografia ‘Roberto Rossellini’ in Rome.
