The concert “Accordion Solo” by Lorenzo Albanese, scheduled for February 28 at the Music Hall of the Fondazione Franco Zeffirelli, has been cancelled.
With Accordion Solo, Lorenzo Albanese invites the audience on a true musical journey, aimed at overcoming common stereotypes associated with the accordion..
«When people hear about the accordion, they often think of dance music or folklore, without being aware of the many melodic nuances this instrument can offer.
This concert was conceived as a journey, with the goal of placing the accordion on the same level as other classical instruments, introducing part of its original repertoire, and bringing my Italian identity to the world.»
Through a program that ranges from Baroque music to twentieth-century repertoire and iconic Italian film music, the accordion reveals itself as a refined, expressive and remarkably versatile instrument.
Concert duration: approximately 60 minutes
Born in 1997, Lorenzo Albanese began studying the accordion in 2013 at the “G. Rechichi” Music High School in Cinquefrondi, under the guidance of Maestro Luca Colantonio. He later continued his studies at the “F. Torrefranca” Conservatory in Vibo Valentia with Maestro Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi.
Winner of numerous national and international competitions, including the prestigious Amadeus Factory Award 2017, he has attended advanced masterclasses with leading international accordionists and musicians.
In 2018, he was a guest on the Italian national television program I Fatti Vostri (RAI 2), where he was recognized as the best young talent of the year. He has performed as a soloist in some of the most important concert halls in Italy and abroad, including the Royal Academy of Music in London and the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen, as well as at several Italian Cultural Institutes worldwide.
His concert activity is supported by major musical institutions such as the Società del Quartetto di Milano, Gioventù Musicale d’Italia and CIDIM.
